Royal Academy of Dance (RAD)
Founded over 80 years ago, the Royal Academy of Dance is one of the largest and most influential examining bodies for classical ballet in the world.
The Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus is taught in over 70 countries, setting high standards of dance training for over 250,000 students each year. The international network of examiners travel the world examining pupils in the Syllabus at every level.
Royal Academy of Dance examinations are based upon the Graded Syllabus, from Pre-Primary to Grade 8, and the Vocational Graded Syllabus, from Intermediate to Advanced 2. They are designed to recognize the progress and achievement of children and young people. They are also for students wishing to study classical ballet seriously, possibly with the goal of pursuing a career in dance or dance-related subjects.
